Over 100 years now, the Carbon Market is the oldest and largest market in Cebu city. Another place for history lovers, the Yap San Diego Ancestral House was built in the early 1700’s by a Chinese merchant and is a perfect example of how life was in early Cebu. Interiors are very beautiful and 95% original having the original hand carved furniture and antiques. While the property is inhabited by a well-known choreographer in the Philippines, you can visit the home any day by giving a nominal fee.
This one is not something which you can do everywhere (and is a no-no for the claustrophobic). There a lot of caves to explore in Cebu. All of them are not open to public but the ones which are include the Ogtong Cave in Bantayan, Balay sa Agta in Argao, Igotan Cave in Talisay, Camp 7 in Minglanilla and Bukilat Cave in Camotes. Make sure to take a local guide with you to have a safe return.
