Considered to be the oldest settlement in the Philippines which was established by Spaniards, Cebu is a heaven for people who love beaches, snorkeling, adventure water sports and also for those who like to visit historical and cultural sites. From land to water to air, this gorgeous province offers various adrenaline packed activities suitable for everyone. Let’s have a look at few exciting things to do in Cebu.

    1. Go Snorkeling

OK, so this is something you can do at every beach in Cebu. People who are non-swimmers and want to become scuba divers, snorkeling is the ideal activity to get good practice to learn swimming skills. While doing this you will get a chance to encounter the beautiful underwater life.

    2. Visit the Carbon Market

Over 100 years now, the Carbon Market is the oldest and largest market in Cebu city. This place is the biggest farmers market in the city – a place where you will find a variety of fresh produce all year round. It not only has fresh fish and meat but also has clothing shops and just about anything else you can think of buying on a vacation.

    3. Dare to fly?

An extreme sport for the ones who dare, skydiving is fun for adrenaline junkies. A sport which has already started to get popular in Cebu, skydiving has to be a to-d0 activity on your list. You might want to check out Skydive Greater Cebu, a professional skydiving group that offers ultimate and thrilling skydiving experience in the Bantayan Island.

    4. Fort San Pedro

Named after the Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez De Legaspi’s ship, Fort San Pedro was built in 1565. Previously used by various militaries, the fort is now a museum where you can see artefacts from early Cebu. This place will be a treat for people who love to explore history and archaeological diggings. The triangular fort is located at the Plaza de Independencia.

    5. Spot the Crown Regency

Not only locate but make sure to visit this building as well. What’s so special about it? Well, it is one of the tallest buildings in Cebu city and offers a load of spine-tingling activities like Urban Zipline, nerve wracking edge-coaster (moves around the edge of the building) and vertical climb. Do a skywalk and conquer your fear of heights by walking around the glass floor on the edge of the Crown Regency Hotel.

    6. Yap San Diego Ancestral House

Another place for history lovers, the Yap San Diego Ancestral House was built in the early 1700’s by a Chinese merchant and is a perfect example of how life was in early Cebu. While the property is inhabited by a well-known choreographer in the Philippines, you can visit the home any day by giving a nominal fee.

    7. Spelunking

This one is not something which you can do everywhere (and is a no-no for the claustrophobic). There a lot of caves to explore in Cebu. All of them are not open to public but the ones which are include the Ogtong Cave in Bantayan, Balay sa Agta in Argao, Igotan Cave in Talisay, Camp 7 in Minglanilla and Bukilat Cave in Camotes.
